About Vula Finance

A practical business platform for South African SMMEs.

Vula Finance is a self-service business platform built to help small, medium and micro enterprises (SMMEs) across South Africa run their businesses with greater clarity. Too many founders run their businesses on intuition alone — chasing sales without a clear picture of cash flow, profit, or runway. Vula Finance changes that by giving every owner a simple, jargon-free cockpit over their real financial records: cash on hand, monthly revenue and expenses, money owed to and by the business, loans, and a cash-runway estimate. Transactions can be categorised with AI assistance and grounded in the records available in Vula Finance, rather than fabricated figures.

The platform serves different users through separate workspaces. Business owners get tools for financial management, customers, quotes and invoices, suppliers, stock, documents, goals, compliance and business readiness. Mentors can work with businesses within the access and permissions assigned to them. Programme managers and funders can manage portfolios, cohorts, programme KPIs, interventions, outcomes and funding information within their authorised programme scope.

Vula Finance is built around a simple idea: business owners should be able to understand what is happening in their businesses without needing to be accounting experts. The platform is designed to make useful business information easier to capture, understand and act on, while keeping access to business and programme information controlled by permissions.
